19.12.2010 Husky wannabees :D

I got as an early Xmas present from my husband. A set of a special devided leash for jogging/ nordic walking etc we got from http://www.vul.fi/ . You can attach two dogs to it and it has an elastic part and also I got a special belt for it. It gives you great freedom for your hands and dogs seem to enjoy walking in their own harnesses.. Here are some pics from today. I took dogs out in 3 groups for a try out. Just swapped the jackets and off we went :D.

First I took out Tara & Nova (he was so loud about the fact that he wanted to go out so I couldn't refuse :)). Tara is wearing her new fleece from Janutex. As it wasn't made to measure, I had to make some changes to it a bit, but now it fits her fine.

Can you see a pink whippet in the garden? :).

Then I took out Nemo and Eppu. They were acting all pro as if to say

"Hey we've done this before." :)

And the last set of boys: Dante, Vili & Duffys (in his own leash).

I think I am ready to go back inside.. it is warmer there..

11.12.2010 Tara at the Helsinki Winner 2010 Show

This weekend we have both Helsinki Winner 2010 & Winner 2010 title shows in Helsinki. I entered our Tara to one show and I thought that Saturday was an interesting option for us as we had a breed judge judging whippets. Our judge today came to Finland as far away as from Argentina and her name is Jacqueline Quiros-Kuibat from Dragonfly Whippets. Competition was very tough today, as always at the Messukeskus shows. There were 68 whippets entered, 34 males & 34 females.

We had 6 dogs in the Intermediate Class and Tara performed very nicely (I on the other hand didn't seem to understand when to stop running :D. I think I am blind as a bat sometimes) and got an Excellent and won her class. In the Best Bitch ring Tara was bored and slightly frustrated and didn't really want to stand still.

Tara was placed 4th in the Best Bitch ring, which was just fabulous. A very nice result that we are very proud of!!! Well done our little one!!!

Of course I had to "reward" Tara for such a good performance in the ring and no way she was ashamed of her oversized jump-suit :D I think I have to modify it a bit...

10.10.2010 Eppu's son Satangin A La Armani wins CAC at track!

We are very proud to let you know that Reino, our Eppu's son has received his second CAC at the Helsinki Sighthound track at Team Race competition. He ran 280m with time 19,15 sec!!! Now Reino has one CAC from lure-coursing and one CAC from track. I have to mention that Reino has been twice very very close to receiving two more CACs from lure-coursing. He was once second in his class (his first race) and once he got the same points as the dog who came in third, but instead of placing them both on the 3rd place, the judges decided to put Reino as 4th..

Reino has done superbly on his first season in racing and we cannot wait to see how well he does next year. He is such a lovely dog with wonderful temperament and we are very glad that he is doing so well in Nelli's care :D. Huge congratulations to both of you as well as the breeders Merike & Tatjana!

5.9.2010 Tara at the Tampere Group 10 show

.....And she did us proud again by winning a tough Intermediate Class and Tara was also placed Best Bitch- 4 out of 27 bitches, judged by Walter Schicker from Germany. Well done our little princess!!! Congratulations to everyone who did well at the show. It was also nice to be able to meet up with Jouni & Nina who own Seti (Tara's half-brother) and Nuhis. Very handsome and lovely males :DDD. Hope to see you soon again!!!

15.8.2010 Eppu's daughter Mirra at Moscow Whippet Speciality

Our Tara's sister Mirra (Rus Ch & Rus J Ch Bohemia iz Volzhskoy Serenady) was at the Moscow Whippet Speciality judged by A. Ivanov, Russia. Mirra got an Excellent, won Intermediate Class and was C Club Champion. I am not always entirely sure how to enterprite the results now ok (CW, C. Ch Club). Well done Mirra and huge congratulations for excellent results.

23.8.2010 Tara's latest show results

Tara was entered to Kouvola all breed show and whippets were judged by Martin Baskaran from Spain. Tara got an Excellent and won Intermediate Class, but unfortunately wasn't placed in the Best Bitch ring this time.

We had a great time at the show, as the weather ended up being nice and we met good friends like Katri, Oscari (Carnoustie's Beam of Light) and Leo (Carnoustie's Love Is My Desire). Though Oscari and Tara are closer in age Tara seemed to enjoy getting wild with Leo outside the ring :DD.

Huge congratulations to everyone who did well at the show!!!

9.8.2010 Happy Birthday Eppu 5 yrs.!!!

I cannot believe Eppu is already five years-old?? Where did the time go?? He does look more distinguished and gentleman like now.. and the colour of his coat has changed a bit (maybe too much sunbathing? :D) ... All his kids growing up fast. I can see a lot of him especially in Tara and also his other kids that I have an opportunity to see time to time. I couldn't imagine my life without him <3>

26.7.2010 Eppu is a grandfather! Ayla gives birth!

Long awaited our Eppu's first grandchildren were born in Estonia today.

3 boys and 5 girls and many many wonderful colours!

We just got an email from Estonian Kennel Union and Tara's EST JCH title has been officially confirmed!!!!

Other news from today. Tara took part in a National Dog Show today at Helsinki Sighthound Track. Our judge was sighthound specialist Raisa Savander who chose Tara Best Bitch-3 and she also received a res-CAC. Many thanks to everyone who took part and congratulations to everyone who did well!!

22.7.2010 Sad news. Faba passed away

Yesterday evening I heard sad news from Merike who was the co-breeder of Eppu's first litter in Estonia. Eppu's little tiger son Faba passed away due to a car accident. Everything happened very quickly and he didn't suffer, but it is always sad to hear such heart breaking news when life ends so quickly for someone so young and much loved. Our thoughts are with Faba's family.

Me and Tara decided to make our second show trip to Estonia after our successful last entry at the Estonian Winner Show 2010, where Tara achived her title EST JW'10 and her first Est Jun CAC. So of course we decided to do our best to try to get two more Est Jun CACs in order to finish her Estonian Junior Champion title.

19.6. Blue Rosa iz Volzhskoy Serenady in Group-X Show

Blue Rosa was at St. Petersburg Group-X show and judge was Darko Petreski (Croatia). Rosa was BOB, got a JCAC and was Best-2 (not entirely show now if this means Best Junior-2 or BIS-2??). Anyway huge congratulations to Natalia and the team again for their success. She is such a lovely looking bitch and it is always a pleasure to receive new pictures of her to show you all!!!
