What a day.. first lc-competition for Eppu, Vili and Dante. Dante was competing in standard size males class (he has to get some serious training before the next competition :DDD), and Vili and Eppu in over standard size males class. After the first round Vili got 230 points and qualified for finals and Eppu got 228 points and qualified for finals as well. We couldn't believe our "luck" to find out that in the finals the were running together as a pair. After well deserved rest and vet check between the runs Vili and Eppu were the ones to start the over standard size males' finals. The ran quite well, followed the lure and didn't seem cut corners (at least what I saw from the distance. The track was over 800m long). Though we were a bit hesitant about them running together, we thought the good thing was that they were pretty much in the same fitness level. They ran almost side by side the whole way and didn't pay attention to each other, which was very good. Eppu did a bit of a spin in the end but didn't hurt himself.
After all the finals finished it was time to award the dogs. In the end Eppu did rise to beat Vili with 243 = total 471 points ( a bit of a rise after the first run) and Vili did his almost an equal run (when comparing to the points he received after his first run) by getting 233 = total 463 points. Eppu was 8/total 13 dogs and Vili was 9/total 13 dogs. Both received an SA (CQ) and pink ribbons. We are very proud of our boys and it was such a lovely way to start their "lc-career". We will sure keep doing this in the future as well :D. Now the boys are getting their well deserved rest at home. I doubt they will be lifting a leg tonight :DDD
