A few pictures of Iris (TLN JW´12 Manoush Deliah Blue)

Our Iris has so far been to two shows in Finland. In her first one she was placed 1st (under Arne Foss, Norway) in junior class and received an Exc-1 and CQ (meaning that she is worthy of a CC) and in her second show at the Mustiala Whippet Club Speciality show where females were judged by breed specialist Molly Rule-Steel from Australia, she was placed 4th with and Excellent out of 24 junior bitches.

It has been a while since I up-dated our blog. A lot has happened the the most wonderful thing is that all the snow is gone and spring is here and sunnier days. Kids participated an all breed Puppy Show in Lohja where Iris was Best Bitch and BOB and went all the way to Group-2 as well!!! Brutus was Best Male and BOS Puppy. So that was a very nice start and it was lovely that both did so well.

Then in April we travelled to Estonia for international title show called "Tallinn Winner 2012". I took Tara, Iris and Brutus there. Mostly so that pups just to get some experience in traveling to new places on a ship and how to stay at the hotel (well how to behave nicely at the hotel).

We had our usual gang on board. This time Suski brought another saluki lady with us and she was a pleasure to travel with. We had a hotel booked in the center of town. Very easy to get to and next to a very well taken care of park. This was just a one day show for us, so we only stayed there for one night. Show itself was held at the Saku Suurhalli as usual this time of year.

Kids and mum liked being at the hotel. We had a large double room with large double bed, which seemed to provide them with endless amount of entertainment. No-one was nervous about new place, everyone ate well in the evening and enjoyed this new experience.

In the morning we headed to Saku halli for the show. In the show there whippets from Finland, Sweden & Estonia. It was all very exciting for the pups and of course to me as well. This was their first time in Junior Class and I was very interested to hear what the judge thought of them. Both just about 10 months old and still very much babies (in my eyes :D).

Our juniors did really well. Iris was Best Junior Bitch with an EXC and also Best Opposite Sex Junior. Brutus was Best Junior Male with EXC and also Best of Breed Junior!!!! As Brutus was too young, he could not compete in "certification class" (which we don't have in Finland), but Brutus was still in the competition for Best Male. It was very very exciting as he was up against a swedish champion male. Judge Liliane de Ridder-Onghena from Belgium finally made a decision and BRUTUS was selected BEST MALE-1!!!!!! WUHUUUU!!!!

Very very exciting!!!! Maybe too young to accept a CC or CACIB from the show, but still it was a very very sweet win for us!!! Brutus did not come home empty "pawed" :D. He received two official titles: Tallinn Junior Winner 2012 (TLN JW-12) and Tallinn Winner 2012 (TLN W-12). Also he got his first Junior-CC!!! Also he took part in BIS-Junior competition where he competed against all the BOB Juniors from all other breeds. Brutus wasn't placed but he was shortlisted among the 10 best juniors in the show!!! Seriously, I could not get any prouder!!!

Iris also received her first official title Tallinn Junior Winner 2012 (TLN JW-12) and got her first Junior-CC. She wasn't placed in the best bitch ring this time, where pup´s mother (who wasn´t perhaps on her top form in this show.. read: a bit fat :D) was BB-3! So our team did really really well. We are also very pleased that BOB was Tara´s half-sister and our Eppu´s daughter super stunning Satangin Absolute Carrot!!! Congrats to Carry and whole family!!!

So over all a very lovely show experience for us and we are super please for this wonderful start to our pups show career!!!

30.01.2012 New pics of "Manu" Manoush Dexter Jettster

Today I received some lovely pictures from Manu´s owners. Manu is taking part in a sighthound course and has met some lovely new friends. Even tried some indoor lure-chasing (hand-pull). I am always very happy to hear that Tara´s pups are doing great in their new homes and have a great life!!

25.01.2012 New Year and New Tricks!!! Tara BIG-4 at Turku Winter Dog Show

It has been a while since my last posting. I think I´ve been doing more of it on Facebook than here but I promise to make an effort :)

Our "babies" Iris & Brutus along with their mother Tara were entered to the Turku Winter International dog show last weekend and I must report we did FANTASTIC!!!

Brutus was Best Male Puppy (7-9 months) and got a Honorary Prize and sister Iris was Best Bitch Puppy (7-9 months) and got a Honorary Prize as well. In the end two of them battled out the Best Puppy "title" and this time Iris won!!!! I am super proud of them and we got excellent critiques from judge Attila Czeglédi (Hungary).

Once we got to Champion Bitches I was already tired from early wake-up and traveling that day, but it didn´t put our spirits down. Tara did super in the ring with a glowing critique from the our judge. Tara was first placed as 1st in Champion bitches with CQ, then we progressed to Best Bitch ring, which she won again in super tight competition (some awesome girls in it!) and in the end she was Best of Breed!!!!!!!! I think it did take some time to sink in... I think my face was probably a bit numb and confused.. :D :D

Later that day we entered the Group 10 competition. Meri Pakarinen (one of the owners of our Baby Daddy Aberdeen Remarkable in Paris) was kind enough to present her at the Group ring and she did it as superbly as she always does.

Our judge was breed specialist Espen Engh from Norway and Tara was placed 4th ahead of some super successful dogs!!!!! Words cannot describe my happiness. I am super proud of Tara and the kids. Last year we attended only 2 shows because of the "puppy break". This year we will definitely attend more shows and coursing events with our dogs!!!
