5.-6.3.2011 Tara new Estonian Champion!!!

Me, Tara and our friend Suski with her wonderful saluki bitch Soosi traveled to Tallinn, Estonia on Friday 4th of March to compete in two national shows there. We stayed at Meriton Confrence & Spa hotel which we can whole heartedly recommend to anyone going to dog shows there. Our single rooms were spacious and clean (and Suski had a bath in hers :)). The hotel offered many nice restaurants to eat and for dogs there were nice parks just next to the hotel and in general it was very easy and nice to move around the hotel with dogs. Staff was also very helpful and friendly. But enough of the hotel promotion :DDD.

We were super delighted of her success at the show and it was a shame we didn't have an opportunity to stay for the Group competition on Sunday as our ship left at 17.30. Maybe next time we stay for another night at the hotel and no hurry back. I would like to express my gratitute to Natalia Malyarenko for choosing our Eppu as a father for their litter which resulted in Tara and her siblings being born. Thank for entrusting us with brilliant little Butterfly Tara to enrich our lives. She is truly one of a kind bitch and we will treasure every moment we have with her!

Me and Tara would also like to thank our support team at the show! Also Suski & Soosi, we will definitely do this again!!!!

30.1.2011 Tara at Turku International Show

We visited Turku International Dog Show as the first show this year. Finnish dog show rules have changed now a bit and in order for dog to be placed in their own class (among the best 4) you need to get EXCELLENT (and only that will do) and in order to be able to continue to the BEST BITCH/DOG ring you also need to get SA/CQ (in your own class first+being placed).

We were really interested in coming to this show as there was again a Breed Specialist judge and this time the judge was Rudi Brandt (kennel Frontrunner's) from Denmark. To us a new judge and of course we were really interested in his opinion on our Tara :).

As we had a breeder judge judging whippets that meant that the show was popular and there were (unless I remember completely wrong now) around 70 whippets entered to the show. This was the last time for Tara in Intermediate Class and in our next show we will be competing in Open Class (our next show is in March).

Competition was tough and also judge was very firm and through in his judging (which I think is a good thing).

Tara got and EXC and was second in her class with CQ!!! (which means "deserving a CC"). She wasn't placed in the Best Bitch ring this time, which was a shame of course :), but we had wonderful critique to take home with us.

Feminine, good type, lovely head & expression. Excellent neck, good topline.

Excellent angulations front & rear. Deep chest, free movement, shown lovely in

condition.

19.12.2010 Husky wannabees :D

I got as an early Xmas present from my husband. A set of a special devided leash for jogging/ nordic walking etc we got from http://www.vul.fi/ . You can attach two dogs to it and it has an elastic part and also I got a special belt for it. It gives you great freedom for your hands and dogs seem to enjoy walking in their own harnesses.. Here are some pics from today. I took dogs out in 3 groups for a try out. Just swapped the jackets and off we went :D.

First I took out Tara & Nova (he was so loud about the fact that he wanted to go out so I couldn't refuse :)). Tara is wearing her new fleece from Janutex. As it wasn't made to measure, I had to make some changes to it a bit, but now it fits her fine.

Can you see a pink whippet in the garden? :).

Then I took out Nemo and Eppu. They were acting all pro as if to say

"Hey we've done this before." :)

And the last set of boys: Dante, Vili & Duffys (in his own leash).

I think I am ready to go back inside.. it is warmer there..

11.12.2010 Tara at the Helsinki Winner 2010 Show

This weekend we have both Helsinki Winner 2010 & Winner 2010 title shows in Helsinki. I entered our Tara to one show and I thought that Saturday was an interesting option for us as we had a breed judge judging whippets. Our judge today came to Finland as far away as from Argentina and her name is Jacqueline Quiros-Kuibat from Dragonfly Whippets. Competition was very tough today, as always at the Messukeskus shows. There were 68 whippets entered, 34 males & 34 females.

We had 6 dogs in the Intermediate Class and Tara performed very nicely (I on the other hand didn't seem to understand when to stop running :D. I think I am blind as a bat sometimes) and got an Excellent and won her class. In the Best Bitch ring Tara was bored and slightly frustrated and didn't really want to stand still.

Tara was placed 4th in the Best Bitch ring, which was just fabulous. A very nice result that we are very proud of!!! Well done our little one!!!

Of course I had to "reward" Tara for such a good performance in the ring and no way she was ashamed of her oversized jump-suit :D I think I have to modify it a bit...
